Rally

What is it?

This is a competitive driving event, usually held on public roads.

How does it work?

A rally can be competitive or for fun. The objective of a rally is to follow a course, usually on public roads, to the precise detail specified in the rules.

Competitive rallies dictate a certain schedule for the checkpoints along the way. Points are deducted by arriving at the checkpoint either early or late. Fun rallies may include a gimmick (poker rally, regional interest). Part of the challenge with a fun rally is to discover the intended route, which may require other skills such as solving a puzzle or looking for obscure reference points.

In most cases you do not need a specially prepared car to participate in the race.

Other info:

These events usually start early morning (7:30 -9 AM) and finish late afternoon.

It is the policy of Niagara Region PCA that club sanctioned events taking place on public roads are to be conducted in accordance with all safety and traffic laws, including but not limited to speed limits.
